Statement of Purpose

The purpose of this Student Portfolio Model is to establish the norms of reflective practice as it relates to learning Mathematics and to develop a growth mindset that empowers us as learners. This practice of daily and regular reflection will help us to both showcase our strengths and to identify our weaknesses. We will focus on our learning this year as a journey that we embark on together. I encourage you to reflect on your individual goals and learning objectives as we work together, as a community of learners, to enrich, grow and learn. These Portfolios that you create will highlight your growth as learners. I encourage you to routinely assess and reflect on your process and progress.

We will begin the year with evaluating other student portfolios and working together to create our own rubric for scoring artifacts and for assessing progress for ourselves. We will support each other as a community as we compete with ourselves to be the best we can be!
